The Big Day
Sawyer did great all the way around (see before and after
surgeries page as well.) He was in a pretty good mood
considering he hadn't had anything to drink or eat in over 13
hours by the time he went into surgery.
There were three other children there that morning having
surgery - all of whom were right about Sawyer's age and all
of whom sat rather quietly, wide-eyed in the pre-op area.
Sawyer, on the other hand, could not be contained. He ran
all over, exploring like he owned the place, "reading" his
book to anyone who would listen and flirting with every
nurse.
When the Verced started to kick in, and his legs stopped
working, he resorted to crawling until the poor little thing got
so sleepy he just about conked out!
