They Said It Would Be No Big Deal And They Were Right
When Sawyer was about 6 weeks old his dad noticed he
had a pretty significant bump over his right eye. He actually
asked Kate if someone at Ser might have dropped him on
his head.
It grew over the last 18 months and a family friend who is a
pediatric surgeon suggested we have it removed now as he
indicated it would only get larger and there is a risk that it
would get infected.
So we decided to travel back to where we new all the
doctors and nurses and have both the "external angular
dermoid cyst" removed (it's at the angle where the plates of
the skull come together and is outside the skull.)
We also had tubes put in his ears because when he gets
infections, it take several round of antibiotics to clear them.
Like most kids, Sawyer had a bit of a difficult time coming
out of anesthesia, but after a 4 1/2 hour nap, he was raring
to go so we took him to the park!
