An Interesting City...

Flat as all get out but encircled by some of those most
spectacular mountains ever created.

Calgary is a booming city that has yet to discover who it really
is.  There is construction everywhere - though only one single
plot of grass in all of downtown.

It's got old areas that have long since been forgotten and are in
desperate need of repair, a hodge-podge of museums, but a
growing arts district and there is no denying the excitement that
still lingers from the recent Olympic Games with all the
beautiful new sports facilities including the ski jump which is
just outside of town!

Our favorite, however, had to be our visit up the Calgary Tower!
Where we walked around on a glass floor hundreds of feet
above the streets - that was truly wild and not for the faint of
heart - what a blast!
The Tower
The Saddle and Stampede
The Calgary hockey stadium is shaped like a saddle! It's
also used for the annual rodeo and other events - but it's
pretty amazing to see both from air and up close.
The Stampede
And we thought Texas like its rodeos. Turns out that
Calgary is no different!
The Mommy-Mobile
Brent had a ball driving this free upgrade from Hertz.
Getting ready for the next "life stage" there big guy?
