Day At School - And Did We Mention It Has Been HOT?
Over the weekend we went to the Fort Worth Museum of
Science and Natural History, where we took advantage of the
air conditioning and a great set up for kids to help our little
guy get "the wiggles out." Click through to the page devoted

This is the second to the last week of "summer vacation" at
school. All summer long they have theme days and this
week it was favorite football team. Sawyer and his buddy
Peyton had their matching Dallas Cowboys jerseys on - it
was adorable as the two were so excited when they saw
each other. Sawyer continues to love school. On Wednesday
evening when he took off his shirt for his bath we saw that
his entire back was covered with green and red marker - he
looked like a deranged Christmas tree. Apparently one of his
buddies decided to make Sawyer his canvas. We roared.
We laughed even harder when we told the teachers who
were horrified because they didn't know! Sawyer seemed to
think it was pretty funny.
Sawyer is currently into firemen's helmets - and he can make
anything into one. His favorite is a shopping bag with
handles, but a bucket or his bike helmet also serve nicely. It
goes along with the "guitars" we play with - which happen to
be pieces of orange Hot Wheels race track. Cool stuff.
Swim lessons continue on and they are definitely a
challenge - though after every class when asked if he had
fun, Sawyer responds with a resounding, "Yes!" Sawyer has
a very healthy respect for the pool. It's nice because he has
no desire to get in the pool without Mommy or Daddy. On
Friday night - the first day in 40 where the thermometer didn't
hit triple digits - Brent and Sawyer went swimming. Brent got
Sawyer a blow up tube so he could float and swim. The two
had so much fun it was hardly legal. Sawyer was even
willing to do some of the "moves" he'd learned in class.
