A Walk Down Memory Lane

Neither of us had been to the Huntington Library or its gardens
since we were kids and we took advantage of a gorgeous
Saturday afternoon to take a peek and refresh our memories of
all that it has to offer.
Japanese Garden
The Historic Huntington Library And Gardens
The Huntington Family owned the railroad that helped
build Southern California.
Careful Brent - It Looks Like An Alien!
We both were pretty amazed at this cactus and felt it
belonged in a Star Trek episode.
Even In February There Are Flowers
Granted the rose garden wasn't yet in bloom,
but there are always flowers in So. Cal.
The Desert Garden Was Spectacular
Who knew you could really have a full cactus
forest?.
Looking For The Road Runner
The cactus and desert garden has an
impressive array of species.
Don't Be Fooled
You wouldn't want to jump into that group of
fuzzy-looking coils - it's not fur but prickles
you'll find.
The Children's Garden
The topiary were super neat.
Kate Makes A Friend
The Children's Garden had some fun
fountains.
Rain Forest
They even have a rain forest they've created
inside a green house.
The Katie Camellia
As a thank you to the Petrie's for hosting us,
we brought them a Camellia named Katie
