Mom And Dad Are Still Gone, Playing At Uncle Craig And
Aunt Stephanie's, Swimming Fun And Mini Mites Hockey
Continues

While Mom and Dad traipse all through the countries that line
the Baltic Sea, Sawyer had an equally wonderful time with his
grandparents, his aunt, his uncle and his cousin here in
Texas.

Sawyer loves playing air hockey and Craig and Stephanie
have a table in their home so he always heads straight for it
when he arrives.  Scoring a goal is always fun so if he can't
score on his opponent he will score on himself and have just
as much fun with it - admirable to say the least.

Sunday afternoon the family also made it to the archery range
- where Cousin Andrew and Uncle Craig showed Sawyer
how to use a bow and arrow (or "bone" and arrow as he
seems to be stuck on.) Sawyer was very pleased with
himself.

There was more fun in the pool and Sawyer is gaining a bit of
confidence, now jumping in with reckless abandon. That
said, we are glad that he remains just a bit trepidatious with
a healthy respect for the water.

Mini Mites continues and Sawyer is the youngest in the class
by 2 years.  He still skates the best but these are more
intense and complicated drills.  However, his coach, Rick
Looker, is also the coordinator for the entire kids hockey
program at the Dr. Pepper Center and has a wonderful way
with children.  Sawyer loves the time on the ice and best of all
more mini-scrimmages at the end of each session! "Did we
win? Did we win? How many goals did we score?"

Year 4 Week 40
Kowabunga!
The freedom that comes with being able to
swim is wonderful.
If Not Ice Hockey Then Air Hockey!
Sawyer and his granddad take on Uncle Craig
in a spirited game of air hockey.  Sawyer still
likes to score goals on himself...
Sheffield Gets The Breakaway!
Sawyer really loved his new coach and paid attention well this
week, even keeping two hands on the stick, as he started more
concentrated drills.
A Drill Where We're SUPPOSED To Fall?
Well rock on! I love Hockey 101.
The New Mini Mite
Sheffield's going for it! Leading the pack all the way
.
Our First Mini Mites Class!
Coach Rick Looker explains the drill.
Ketchup - The Fifth Food Group
Sawyer has little interest in French fries unless there is ketchup
- fries are just a conduit for the red stuff.
All The Gear!
Grandmother and Granddad were both really good sports about
getting Sawyer all dressed and ready for hockey (three days a
week.)  We have a feeling they might have preferred soccer.  See
the progression below.
Aaargh!
Dang these snaps are tight - Mommy thinks so too, by the way.
