Football, Tennis, Writing and Site Words With Dad, Skating
With Mom, And Trying To Fill Dad's Shoes...And Helmet
It was a super busy week. We started by going to watch Dad
play tennis - the courts have a wonderful playground so when
we had difficulty being the model tennis-crowd, we had a
good distraction. That day we moved on to go skating for
"Dark Skate" - namely going to Grapevine Mills Mall for their
laser skate night. Sawyer had a good time but really liked
going to the other rink and watching the hockey players in
action.
The following day we got to the Dr. Pepper center and Dad
came with us so he got some pics from the viewing booth
upstairs. We also decided it would be fun to both try on
Dad's shoes and to bring out his Snow Boarding helmet
which we obviously had not yet put away properly from our
trip at Easter. The picture below we find priceless because
Sawyer didn't seem to find it necessary to fill anything else.
Sawyer has been doing writing of his letters for a while now,
but they've now started sight words in earnest at school.
Daddy found a way to make a game out of it by having
Sawyer and Daddy compete against a Star Wars Lego battle
droid with flash cards. That has produced gales of laughter.
We are continuing with pre-hockey lessons and Sawyer is
doing well, despite the fact that the pace really isn't fast
enough and he gets distracted quickly. It seems having him
skating just for fun at the public skate sessions is far more
valuable - especially if there is a good little "hockey player"
out there that he can race!
