Good Bye To Grandmother Joachims, Daddy's Annual
Meeting, A Visit To Uncle Craig's Work And Having The
Whole Rink To Ourselves
Sawyer and Mommy dropped off a few things for Uncle Craig
at his work, "The Rock." Uncle Craig gave Sawyer a treat by
bringing him into the server room to chase the lights on the
floor.
Later that morning, Sawyer and Mommy went over to the Dr.
Pepper Ice Center, where he just started new hockey
lessons, to practice. Kate was pretty concerned when she
saw how poorly Sawyer was skating after not having been on
skates for so long. The big deal was they had the ice to
themselves for a while - only partially a good thing because
Sawyer is really social and missed having people to chase
but it was a dream come true for Kate as she had never been
on the ice all by herself - like the Olympics!
This week we bid farewell to Brent's Maternal Grandmother,
Sawyer's Great Grandmother Joachims, but before we drove
to Oklahoma for the funeral, we had to attend the Advancial
Annual Meeting that evening. Sawyer had a ball playing on
the playground outside of the Farmer's Branch Civic Center
where the event was held and of course loved all the
attention from everyone from Advancial as well.
At Great Grandmother's Funeral we actually had a good time
visiting with the family and Sawyer's second cousin, Enrique
(son of Brent's cousin) and Sawyer provided great comic
relief - helping keep all of us in better spirits and reminding
us there really is a circle of life for which we can all be
grateful. We will miss Great Grandmother, but are all glad
that she is now back with Great Granddad Max.
