Ski Gear, The Quilt Maker's Gift, Costumes, Soccer Starts
Again And Swimming Continues

Sawyer is still hooked on skiing - at least he's hooked on his
helmet and goggles.  We have told him that we are planning
to go skiing when we go to California at Easter so we are
stuck with him wanting to wear the accessories all over
including basic errands like Costco and the grocery store.

His love of costumes (a close cousin we've decided to any
type of sports gear) continues with great strength.  He loves
to pull them out on a regular basis and also wear these on
the weekend - this weekend was no different and so while
Mommy had work to do he sat pretty quietly enjoying both his
costume and his iPad.

Soccer started this week and it turned out that both teams
had red jerseys.  Brent ran back to the house, pulled out a
stack of his old under shirts, cut them off a bit (so they
wouldn't be knee-length dresses) and allowed each child on
our team to choose their own number for the game which he
wrote with a Sharpie.  The kids LOVED it and Sawyer wanted
his number (he chose 99 because it was the biggest and
also happened to be Wayne Gretsky's number - yes, we
know he's mixing his sports, but he's four and we're giving it
to him.)

Our friend gave us the book
The Quilt Maker's Gift about a
very selfish, greedy and unhappy king who wants one of the
quilt maker's beautiful creations because he believes it will
make him happy. She won't give him one until he becomes
giving, in which case he discovers that's what makes him
happy.  Sawyer loves the book and we love the message.
The best part was we made it a family affair to read the book
together, on our bed, with Daddy and all of Sawyer's favorite
stuffed animals also listening quietly.  Special times.

Sawyer And Dad Snuggle Up As Mom Reads The Book
We had to include all of the stuffed animal buddies in our
snuggle during the book. It was important that we kept
them warm under the blanket as well.
