Hockey Outside, Learning The Joys Of Watering And
RIDING A BIKE!
Friday was Jersey Day at school. Sawyer wears a "uniform"
of a school shirt and either khaki or navy shorts
Monday-Thursday. On Fridays he's allowed to wear what he
likes, but seeing as wearing t-shirts is a treat in and of itself,
we've decided to just let him keep wearing them on Fridays.
This week, however, the school decided to go with the theme
of sports and so Sawyer pulled out his Dallas Starts jersey
(long sleeved in 92 degrees, but that was his choice.) He
was so excited that he slept with it in his bed the night before
and woke at 4:40 in the morning ready to get dressed and
get in the car! Needless to say, we got him to go back to
sleep until 6:00!
Our beloved Pippin is getting older and his little back legs
are really giving out. Sawyer can sense this and has become
even more gentle and attentive to him - insisting that he feed
him and Sawyer spends at least 5-10 minutes a day lying
with him and just giving him love.
Sawyer wanted a Lego from Target so we decided to let him
earn it by doing chores and not fussing (like at bath time, bed
time, etc.) It worked!
Finally, we got the hang of the bike! He is thrilled - the next
step will be to remove the training wheels - but one step at a
time...
