The Brahmas Hockey Game, Tennis And Swimming
It was another week for sports. It started off with a special
treat when one of Sawyer's best friends' dad gave us tickets
to a minor league hockey game, as he is the coach and
general manager of the Texas Brahmas.
Our friends Deb and Tom Griesbach joined Brent and
Sawyer. Everyone had a great time and of course Sawyer's
"Auntie Deb" spoiled him with a turning light that looks like
the one that goes off when someone scores a goal. Sawyer
also got a hockey puck from the game that flew into his area
off the ice. The Brahmas easily won the game (they even
scored with a three-man power play against six players
because the goalie was pulled), but Sawyer kept a close eye
on a man who was dressed all in purple who was basically
being a cheerleader. Sawyer isn't terribly keen on people in
costume in general - this guy was no different.
However, when he left the game, you can see the result
below - he crashed - he'd had a fantastic time in every way.
Otherwise, Daddy took Sawyer to the tennis courts for the first
time. Sawyer invariably wants to go and play tennis with
Daddy on Monday nights when Brent goes to play. So we
figured it was a good time to get started. The result was
definitely "mixed" - we think he prefers the idea of hockey to
tennis - with hockey it doesn't seem to matter as much
whether it goes in a particular direction.
We had no hockey or skating because the rink was closed!
But we will back at it next week.
