Skating Lessons and Time With Pie & Papa
Mommy and Daddy were off in Europe and Sawyer got to
spend some good quality time with his Pie and Papa (while
Mom and Dad missed him terribly from Budapest, Vienna
and Prague!)
While we were gone Sawyer got a chance to do some real
skating. He worked with two instructors - both Sara (who is a
professional and more insistent instructor) and Alicia, on
whom we think Sawyer has a bit of a crush.
He has learned how to "march" to get standing on the ice, is
learning to do both his front and back "wiggles," how to fall
and stand up, how to touch his toes without falling and how
to use his arms as "airplane wings." We've been told he's
got great balance.
His biggest challenge remains wanting to watch what
everyone else is doing and right now it's still most fun to
watch the big kids play hockey!
When Mom and Dad got back from Europe, Pie and Papa
unfortunately had to leave the next morning, but that evening
Sawyer got to go to volleyball with Daddy and he sat very
quietly by himself until Mommy arrived.
The rest of the week Sawyer and Dad got some good "guy
time' while Mommy was off at a conference. She's headed to
another one next week too - ugh!
