Peyton's 3rd Birthday Party, Haircut & Ice Skating
Preparing for Pie and Papa to come to look after Sawyer
while Brent and Kate go to Europe, we of course took the little
guy to get his hair cut. Despite the photograph below, he
actually did very well.
Over the weekend we also had Sawyer's best friend Peyton's
birthday party. His party was at the same place where they
had it the year before - and we were excited that was the
case. It's a spectacular water park (especially for the age) in
the Orrs' subdivision. Sawyer had as much fun this year as
he did last year - maybe even more so, if that's possible.
Beyond all the fun, he adores singing happy birthday,
birthday cake and FROSTING!
Sawyer's interest in hockey has not waned a bit so we
decided to get him some lessons. The first one was the day
that Pie and Papa arrived from California. The lady with
whom we had lessons scheduled, Sara, couldn't make it so
Kate eventually got on the ice with Sawyer. It was quite a
circus and there was a young girl by the name of Alicia who
helped "pinch hit." Sawyer liked her because she wore
proper hockey skates and had a stick!
But Sawyer sleeps with his little hockey stick every night (and
his "helmet" which happens to be a bike helmet, but we're
"gonna give it to him.")
Probably the best part of that first lesson was being able to
watch the big kids play hockey with Papa - who knows
hockey well and has started to teach Sawyer. So much so
our little guy already knows what a "Face Off" is and definitely
understands what the "Penalty Box" is - a.k.a "time out." Life
is definitely good.
