Swimming And Trip To Southern California
Over the weekend Sawyer continued to feel a bit more
comfortable in the pool and was even getting the hang of
jumping in. He is no longer as afraid of going under the
water. So much so that when he went to stay with his
Grandma and Granddad Sheffield later in the week neither
could believe that he'd ever had any trepidation at all!
He now has 2 Buzz Light Years, "A Mommy Buzz Light Year
and a Baby Buzz Light Year." Sawyer is quite concerned that
the two should be together at all times. He has learned that
the Mommy floats, but the baby sinks - all the more reason to
take good care of the baby according to Sawyer.
We traveled back to Southern California this week because
we had a conference, so we took the opportunity to have
Sawyer go and stay with his paternal grandparents. All three
had a great time - but we think Sawyer did most of all among
the fireman's costume (he got to take it home!), being able to
play with cousin Anthony's toys (Anthony was in Hawaii with
his family on vacation so unfortunately we missed him and
CJ this trip) and of course playing with Granddad in the pool!
This was the first trip in a plane where we did not have
Sawyer's car seat and though it was easier in the airport by
far, it was definitely harder for Sawyer to sleep - i.e. he didn't
really sleep on the plane (makes for a very long 3 hours for
all three of us!) But to be fair, he did very well and it's just
another milestone of many.
Brent found another dinosaur show from PBS called "The
Dinosaur Train" which has currently unseated Dino Dan as
the favorite show. He's also enjoying Blues Clues a bit more.
Otherwise, our little man just continues to grow and grow. It
seems we might have waited a bit long to put him in his "big
boy bed" (the conversion from the crib) because we think he
will be needing a "grownup bed" any day now - between the
toys and the length, there's just not enough room!
