Ian's Party, A Haircut And More Legos
It's been hot - really hot - and for a long time - so it seems.
Everyone is talking about hitting the record for the most
number of 100+ degree weather that was set in 1980. Over
the weekend Sawyer had a birthday party to go to - his pal Ian
from school. They had a petting zoo, and although they had it
under a tree in their front yard it was still hot - really, really,
meltingly hot. Sawyer was the only child who was so scared
that he refused to go into the pen by himself. Mommy had to
carry him - so with Brent unable to attend, needless to say,
there are no photos of the party here. It was hard to see him
so scared - we're not sure why. He spoke sweetly to them,
but would only do so from the comfort and safety of Mommy's
arms.
Otherwise we got in to see his "stylist" - neither Brent nor
Kate has a stylist, but of course our little man does.
Christina is very good with him and he likes getting his hair
cut - so much easier to take care of when it's nice and short.
Sawyer remains crazy for Legos. We have continued with our
"pocket money for good deeds" - which include getting good
marks for behavior at school, being amenable to bed times
and most of all, going potty on the potty! We are happy to
report that all seem to be going better now that he is starting
to understand the correlation between being good, earning
money and getting Legos. You've got to love the $3.99
packages at Target - that store is genius all the way around.
