San Francisco Trip, Swim Lessons, Cars On The Track

The weekend started with our continued 4th of July trip to the
Bay Area in northern California.  On Saturday we visited
Monterey where we visited both their aquarium - a great
experience, very much geared toward kids, and their
incredible city park.  We had never seen anything quite like it.
Sawyer went berserk - along with every other kid who was
there - we can't say we blame them.  The pictures hardly do it
justice and the day was incredibly beautiful - in fact we had
beautiful weather the whole time we were there. Later that
day we drove down the coast to 17 Mile Drive which leads to
Pepple Beach and the famous golf course. It was a
gorgeous drive and we had fun walking on the rocks and
seeing sea lions!

Sunday we were in San Francisco itself and we stayed right
across the ridge at the old Fort Baker - which turned out to be
such a fantastic place we want to go back next year - and
everyone knows how we don't like to repeat trips! Monday we
traveled up to Sonoma to visit some wonderful friends of
ours and introduce them to Sawyer - who had a great time
watching Sonoma's annual 4th of July parade.

Coming home was fun. For some reason Sawyer couldn't
wait to get home to play cars on his "track."  We have no idea
why it was SO important, but he whined about it for the last
day and a half of the trip.  Needless to say, he played with his
track all week long and through the following weekend.

Otherwise, we are continuing swim classes, though Sawyer
still doesn't particularly like being under the water.  That said,
he does love the class and waving at Daddy through the
window and on Friday when we went to swim in our own pool
he insisted that his friends wanted to watch him!

Not sure where Sawyer was exposed to it, but
he asked for a track for his cars while we were
in San Francisco, so Dad used the track from a
