Callista's Birthday Party, It's Hot And We're Ready to Swim,
The Advancial "Picnic" And Standford & Santa Cruz
Over the weekend we had a great social calendar. First we
had a school mate's birthday party. Callista's party as held at
a facility that had 6 huge bounce houses - it blew Sawyer's
mind - along with all the other little kids who were there. The
funniest part was Sawyer, right in the middle of playing, all of
a sudden wanted to find Callista and took Kate's hand
informing her "Mommy, I need to find Callista." When he
found her, she was already in the "party room" where they
were getting the cake ready. Sawyer proceeded to sing his
friend a "Happy Birthday" Solo. The cake was great, but the
Thomas The Train Stickers were fantastic!
We had a "double feature" that day with Brent's summer
"picnic" that was held at a place where there were video
games, bowling and bumper cars. The best part for Sawyer
were the motorcycle video games. He continues to be
completely crazy for both trucks and motorcycles. We hope
he grows out of the latter...
On Sunday we took a respite from the heat by getting in the
pool - Sawyer continues to be pretty nervous this year - which
is fine with us - at least until we know that he can really swim!
Later in the week, we headed off to Northern California for a
4th of July visit. We started by going to Kate's Alma Mater,
Stanford - where Sawyer had a ball running around campus,
in the Oval and of course throughout the Quad and its
hallways.
Then we ventured further toward the coast where we went to
Santa Cruz where found a great park that did a good job of
breaking up all the driving.
