Bike At The Park, The Lego Fire Truck & Swim Lessons
The heat is upon us in full swing and with temperatures over
105 degrees - and hotter in the sun, we try to get up and out
the door early so we can hit the park before it's just
impossible.
This week Sawyer insisted on bringing his bike to the park -
we think because he often sees the older kids' bikes there
and always wants to go and touch them. He did end up
riding it quite a bit.
After being so sick on the Friday before, Brent took him to the
doctor on Monday and promised that he would take him to
Target for a toy should he behave. Needless to say, the kid
was an angel, so off the two boys went and Dad bought
Sawyer a Lego Fire Truck. It has been a major hit of the
week - especially trying to make sure that we can find all the
little pieces - and there are many. The truck is great but
doesn't hold together too well, so we've managed to rebuild it
on at least a dozen times in only 6 days.
Sawyer has greater fear this year of the water and we started
swim lessons this week. He did not want to go into the
building, Mommy had to fireman's-carry him in. Then, he was
pretty circumspect about the whole thing, but he loved the
activity in the pool and he's so social - not to mention the fact
that they have a SLIDE - so by the time the lesson was over,
he had no desire to leave the water.
To try to make it more fun, Brent found some fun balls that
are meant specifically for the pool. We all had a great time
tossing them back and forth. When they get water-logged
they create a fantastic splash!
