Getting Outside More
The weather has become warmer - it looks like Spring may
well have sprung! We've all been taking advantage of it and
Sawyer has been helping Daddy in the yard. The two of them
planted the pots around the pool - it now looks wonderful
colorful. We're always a bit surprised by just how strong he
is and how much he loves to carry anything that should be
way too big and is definitely awkward.
School has decided that our little guy is bored and should
really move on to the next level - "Preschool" - but the catch is
that we need to get him potty-trained to do it. Apparently
Sawyer has become "independent" - that is to say he he's
usually amusing himself these days. Brent observed him a
bit and found the same thing - he's a happy chappy but not
terribly engaged with what the others are doing.
We had an unexpected pleasure in that Granddad Sheffield
was in town we got to spend Friday with him (he stayed
through the weekend into next week.) But Sawyer and Daddy
picked him up at the airport and on their way to visit Mommy
at work, they stopped off at Sawyer's dentist's office so that
they could play on the trains outside! Sawyer's Granddad is
a real train lover and they had a ball ringing the bell and
playing conductor.
He continues to love his "phone" (an iPod Touch). This week
Brent loaded Sesame Street's 35th Anniversary show onto it.
It includes and operatic version of the classic "C is for
Cookie" and then a closing number about as sappy as
maple syrup - he loves both!
