Motor Bike, The Rangers and The Parade Of Costumes!
Though we told our friends not to bring any gifts, some of them
couldn't help themselves. Our friends Gloria, John and their
son Trevor brought Sawyer his first "Motor Bike." Given how
much Sawyer adores motor bikes, it was a HUGE hit. We
basically had "separation issues" on Sunday night when he
needed to go to bed. The motor bike had to "go night-night" in
Sawyer's room.
The Texas Rangers made it to the World Series and to show
some great spirit, school had "Texas Rangers Day." Mom had
to drive all over town trying to find a Texas Rangers t-shirt in a
size 3T, but thanks to Academy Sports, Sawyer was ready. The
Rangers proceeded to lose the first two games to the San
Francisco Giants, though they pulled out the third one when
they got back to Arlington.
Sawyer continues to want to do anything Daddy does, and now
it has extended into both "shaving" and "putting on deoderant."
It's pretty hilarious.
Beyond that, he now wants a "back-pack" like the older kids in
his class, so we found one in the closet he could use (luckily it
was a "blue one" as "ordered") and now he takes it everywhere.
He likes to carry it like Daddy - over one shoulder - which
makes it particularly difficult to keep it off the ground and not trip
over the extra straps.
We didn't have much hope this year for the "Parade of
Costumes" at school because he wouldn't wear his costume at
home, so we were pretty elated when we saw him come out of
the door - first one on the rope, leading the way in his class's
parade. We think it helped that he was dressed like Pia, Kate's
parents' dog, whom he still talks about though he hasn't seen
since Easter.
