Discovering Atlanta On New Year's Day 2011
We started our day with a leisurely breakfast and moved on to
Sawyer throwing up in the back of the car before lunch. We
have now become experts at cleaning throw up out of the back
seat of rental cars - especially considering the fact that we
ended New Years Eve doing the same thing! As a result, Kate
started riding in the back with Sawyer because his seat was
soaked!
However, after that little detour of an incident, we had a terrific
day.
Our two destinations were the Atlanta Aquarium - which, as it
turns out is the largest in the world! Sawyer really enjoyed the
"petting" part of the aquarium where he got to reach out to
small manta rays and tiny sharks. He and his dad stood at the
pool for ages while Mom tried to capture their glee on video. He
also loved the arts and crafts table and the penguin mask that
he decorated.
And then we were off to the Coca Cola Museum - lots of
interesting things and a tasting room that had a floor like a
frat-house - very sticky from all the spilled soft drinks. Sawyer
loves grape soda we've discovered - though he still likes to
wear it as well.
The weather has gotten cold and the heat in the house and at
school has everyone's skin dry so we've been "lubing" Sawyer
up with lotion in the evenings. He likes to get in on the action of
course! Always the little helper.
