Fun With Cousins And Returning Home
The "big" surgery now over, Sawyer was lucky that his
cousins, Aidan, Gracie and Graham came back from a
family reunion on their mom's side (their dad, Erle, is Kate's
brother.) So their time with Sawyer overlapped by just 2
days, and the cousins really made the most of it.
It was fantastic for Sawyer to play with these three cousins -
they had a ball - especially playing with Gracie's old tricycle
and some of the toys that have been around Pie and Papa's
house since Aidan (now 9) was Sawyer's age.
Our trip back to Texas from Southern California was pretty
uneventful - Sawyer really travelled like a champ and of
course Pippin is always our little faithful traveler.
Getting back into the swing of things was quite the whirl
wind after being off and having family all around. Sawyer
was definitely a bit disappointed not to have so many
people around him for his amusement.
We were told not to take the tiny piece of steri strip off of
Sawyer's eye and to just let it fall off - Sawyer never fussed
with it but when he got back to school all his little buddies
really wanted to touch it. However, that one inch piece of
steri strip ultimately lasted more than 3 weeks!
