Nice Weather And Lots Of New Things
Over the weekend, Sawyer once again did what he loves
best at the park - climbed UP the slide. Only this time he
made it all the way to the top and did so on the longest slide
at the playground! Yikes! He did it not once, but twice and
slid down on his tummy each time - he was very pleased
with himself as you might imagine.
Another first happened that same day - a little girl walked
right up to him and gave him his first kiss - we always
thought he was handsome, now we have confirmation!
This week it is clear that he can not only say but understand
who Mama, Dada and Pippin are and he can even say
Papa, though we won't go back to see our families in
Southern California for a few weeks now. We're hoping he
is still saying Papa at that stage and Grandma, Granddad
and Pie too!
Beyond those titles, he loves to make the noises of the cow,
the dog, the sheep and now the duck and the cat as well -
and of course a favorite remains the sound of the airplane
coupled with a vigorous pointing to the sky - we think he
loves living near DFW airport!
We are here to report that the "Picture Day Curse of the
Face" is alive and well. This week it was picture day at
school so on Tuesday Sawyer wanted to climb up a hard
pillow wedge - which he did until he fell and hit his right
cheek on a table producing a beautiful purple bruise and
red scratch, then Wednesday he by accidentally
head-butted Brent when giving him a hug, leaving a mark
on his forehead and Thursday he snatched a bucket out of
the teacher's hand and gave himself a gorgeous shiner on
his right eye in the process. We figure we had better be
careful in public, otherwise someone is going to report us
to Child Protective Services. How we love our healthy,
spirited and rambunctious little boy!
