Indoor Fun Because Of More Cold, Wet Weather
This week varied with cold rain, a light snow dusting and
some warmer temperatures at times. On the weekend, it
was cold and wet so we looked to do things inside. Next to
our grocery store, there is an indoor "Safari" park for kids. It
has an indoor train, large animatronic animals kids can
ride, toys to play with, a climbing gym with a ball pit and
miniature golf among other things..
Sawyer did a little bit of everything while Mom and Dad
looked on. It was interesting to watch him play in the kids'
kitchen and use the various accessories in an appropriate
way. He doesn't have much exposure to those details at his
eye level, so it is neat to wonder how he picked these things
up.
There were several parties taking place while we were
there on a Saturday, so it was a busy place. We timed our
visit pretty well, because both parties were eating lunch and
doing cake while Sawyer enjoyed the offerings of the
playland without too much competition, though we noticed
he shared well with his new-found "friends."
Sawyer continues to want to do things like Mom and Dad.
That includes using a regular fork to eat, eating a sandwich
without being cut into small pieces/bites and using the
squeegee for the shower.
Playing "chase" or "hide-n-seek" is always a fun pastime for
Sawyer. It seems the best places to hide and play continue
to be in Mom and Dad's closet. Sawyer continues to learn
more sign language and is doing really well at combining
signs to better communicate.
