Cold, White Week
The changes just keeping coming on - some cute, some
not so cute. He will now answer a question - but the
answer is usually "no" - he doesn't say it just yet, but he will
shake his head no. Sometimes, he'll do it even when we
suspect he really, in his heart, means "yes" - like when he
says he doesn't want to take a nap or go to bed, but after
less than 12 seconds of fussing, he settles down and
conks out!
Last week he had a terrible diaper rash and a runny tummy
which just got worse over the weekend. Brent stayed home
with him on Monday and took him to the doctor where we
learned he's grown another inch and gained a half of a
pound in a month - he's now 29.6 lbs and in 33 inches long.
That puts him in about 90th percentile for both height and
weight. Turns out his diaper rash was because he is
teething.
From Wednesday night to Thursday night it snowed solidly
and the weather broke all previous snow fall over a 24-hour
period. We took photos on Thursday morning, but we lost
power Thursday night so we went into Dallas to stay at a
hotel so that Brent could get into the office and we could
stay warm. Staying at a hotel is always a great adventure -
even if it means little sleep - Sawyer snuggled with Kate, but
kicked Brent all night. School was closed and so Sawyer
hung out with Kate at her office on Friday - no work was
done...at least by Kate.
