Liberty Or Death!

As many had told us, we noticed that the Alamo itself, is not very
big. It's awe inspiring and horrifying to think of so many men,
women and children, held up for 13 days in this rather small space
- one that was built as a mission, no doubt.

Today, it's rather wild, how the city has now grown up all around it.
Across the street are cheezy places like the Ripley's Believe It Or
Not "Museum," and just down the way is Buckhorn - a saloon-type
place with every type of taxidermy animal you can imagine.

But nothing takes away from the sacrifice so many made on this
very spot. The grounds are beautiful and the buildings have been
well restored.
