Switzerland of the Smoky Mountains

From the Interstate to the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park, you must pass through Pigeon Forge (the home of
Dollywood theme park) and Gatlinburg on US 441. This stretch
of road offers no alternatives and gave us the feeling of being in
Branson, Missouri. The two key qualities being: 1) lots of traffic
on inadequate roads with lots of traffic lights and 2) rows of
souvenir stores, miniature golf courses, go cart tracks and
country shows relentlessly attempting to take your money.

It was mentioned to us that this area was like Switzerland.
Unfortunately, that analogy is not even a stretch. The only thing
that makes this area anything like Switzerland is that they have
a gondola.

You can plan your next vacation to
Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg
