The Island of Delos
This is the largest archaeological site of Greece. It turns out
five days after we visited the whole island was closed to
visitors. It will be closed to visitors for over a year while they
create pathways and barriers to help protect the site from all
the visitors.
We took a short boat ride from Mykonos to the island and
yowza was it a hot, barren and desolate place - but at one point
more than 100,000 people lived on this tiny island that thrived
because it was a tax-free place - the world never changes,
does it?
Walking Among the Ruins
We could touch anything - it was incredible.
