The Acropolis!

No trip to Greece would be complete without a visit to the
Acropolis - but we had several - our hotel was right at the base of
it so we took the opportunity to do a lot of exploring. It was
everything we had hoped it would be and more. Simply amazing!
A Man and His Mountain
Brent stands with the Acropolis behind him as we prepare
to explore the Parthenon.
Kate at the Acropolis
Athens is a huge metropolis and this shot
really shows that fact.
Just Smile And Try To Look Pretty
Our first attempt at a photo in front of the Acropolis wasn't
exactly definitive...so we just asked another passer-by...
Theater of Dionysus
Dionysis was the goddess of wine and drama and her
theater is one of two at the foot of the Acropolis.
More to the Acropolis than the Parthenon
This beautiful photo is of the back of the other structure on
Athens' Acropolis - known as the Porch of the Caryatids.
Brent stands off from it in the photo to the right and you can
see the statues in the shot below.
View from the Acropolis
There is a wonderful view of the city with Lykavittos hill in
the background.
The Temple of Olympian Zeus from the Acropolis
We're still not sure what the difference is between
Olympian Zeus and Zeus - but the Greeks make a big
distinction when it comes to the temples - we believe
because there were so many temples built to the "grand
pooh-bah" of all the gods.
Do you HAVE to take so many photos?
Either that or does Kate just look like she's Queen Bee of
the Parthenon - we're still not sure. All we know is we had
one heck of a great time and this picture cracks us both up.
