The Proposal
The Reader’s Digest version is that in September, Brent
convinced Leslie Moonves, the CEO of CBS, Kate's former
boss, and Entertainment Weekly’s #1 most powerful man in
Hollywood for several years running, to tell Kate she had to
meet with the romance novelist, Danielle Steele, about a
manuscript for a television movie, so Brent could lure her,
unaware, back to San Francisco, two months to the day, and to
the exact spot of, their first kiss – (Chrissy Field in front of the
Golden Gate Bridge) – where he proposed. (Did you get all of
that?)
To say the least, she was surprised. However, the bigger
surprise was discovering she wasn’t optioning a romance
novel, she was living one; the man she was supposed to be
with had been under her nose 19 years ago when she was up
to her ears in Trigonometry, Physics and Honors Chem.

Will You Marry Me?
Chrissy Field in San Francisco, California was the
site of the first kiss. The park sits just east of the
Golden Gate Bridge. On September 4, 2004, Brent
proposed to Kate at this same site.
