The Beauty Of The Old Structures

One of the neatest things about Washington, D.C. is the fact
that many of the old structures have been revamped on the
inside so that they remain in use.

Both Union Station and the Old Post Office have been turned
into veritable shopping malls which provide the tax base to
keep up the older buildings.
The Old Post Office
There really isn't a structure that is more impressive, save
perhaps The Capitol Building in all of D.C.
Benjamin Franklin
While his statue could adorn several buildings in the city, it
stands outside the Post Office.
Union Station
This beautiful old structure is still in use as a station for
both AmTrak as well as The Metro.
Retaining Its Grandeur
The Grand Salon of Union Station has
retained, or perhaps better put, regained the
elegance of its past. This room is truly
breathtaking.
