The New Deal...Only Thing To Fear Is Fear Itself...
It's amazing to read the walls of this memorial - as they are
covered with quotes of his famous Fireside Chats.
Unfortunately, the FDR Memorial is a bit off the beaten path and
we suspect several visitors to the city may well miss it.
It's filled images of the time, from the war, to the bread lines, to
his wheel chair, even to his dog.
The Wheel Chair Few Even Noticed
It's hard to imagine that he really did spend his life in the
chair he wanted to be small enough that it was hard to
see.
Brent Joins the Soup Line
It was a bitterly cold night - really made one think how
difficult times can be when there isn't heat - let alone
food..
Waterfalls and Fountains
This memorial is right on the river but there are fountains
all over it. They remind one of all the public works he
started to get people back to work.
And Where Does Kate Want Her Photo Taken?
With the dog of course! It's easy to see by how shiny his
ears are that lots of others have had the same idea.
