It Was Still Frozen...

Though there is no denying that Lake Louise is a setting that
can hardly be topped, we unfortunately missed the incredible
blue that the water is famed to be.

In late April and early May, when we were there, it was still
frozen solid and we were not able to make it until after the sun
had gone behind the mountains.

However, we did enjoy having a bite to eat in the famous hotel
that stand there - and looking at all the old photos of its
construction which hang in the halls.

We'd love to go back and see it during the height of summer.
That's Ice
The lake itself is more than a mile a deep and is known to
have a color of water that is not only blue but a bit milky
because of all the chalk from the surrounding hills.
