...That's a lot of ice baby!

The Athabasca Glacier is deeper than the Eiffel Tower is high.

Did you know that glaciers are not created by frozen water but
rather by compacted snow?  That's how they get their weird
blue color to them.

We learned those facts and a bunch of others on our little jaunt
up Athabasca, where our guide, an Aussie named Andrew was
as funny and fun as he was knowledgeable.

Perhaps the coolest part was the ride in that wild bus - created
specifically for this purpose.
Yet Another Post Card
Brent not only buys them wherever we go but the two of us
tend to MAKE them as well. It would be difficult to take
photos around here and not have them look great.
The Bus
We rode in this wild vehicle to get up to the
glacier.
The Guide
Andrew was our guide - all the way from Australia and
filled with neat facts and brimming with bad puns - he was
great.
The Wall
Where they plow space on the glacier for
parking leaves an incredible wall of ice and
snow shown behind us.
The Tires are Over 5 Ft. Tall
And top speed is 15 miles an hour.
