The Mouse House Was A "Blast!"
We had a great time at Disneyland's 50th Anniversary
celebration where we rode two new rides: Pooh's Grand
Adventure and the one pictured to the left, "Buzz Lightyear's
Astro Blaster." The latter is a life-sized video game where you
are deputized "Space Rangers," given "blasters" and have to hit
targets throughout the ride. It was ridiculously fun.
We also rode the new version of Space Mountain (which didn't
seem much different from its predecessor, save the music,)
went on the roller coaster where Brent used to work in high
school, (you guessed it, the Matterhorn) and best of all spent
some quality time with the Sheffield's and the Verrengia's -
most notably, baby C.J. It was a fantastic day all around!
Mission Accomplished!
Brent and Kate keep the world safe from inter-galactic
thugs!
Tarzan Eat Your Heart Out!
Brent couldn't resist the temptation to climb
while we were visiting Tarzan's Tree House.
Space-Ranger Kate Is Ready With Her Blaster
Mission Control Feels Confident With These Two
Sandra and Mark, Brent's sister and brother-in-law, really
showed us the ropes on this fun ride. Somehow, on one
ride Mark got over 300,000 points!
Just Smile And Try To Look Pretty
On the other hand, Kate's idea of activity at
the ape-man's abode was to just pose...
The Robert E. Lee
This old paddle boat has been there since the park
opened 50 years ago on July 17, 1955.
Hand In Paw
Mickey and Walt welcome everyone to the
park in the square at the end of Main Street.
The World Of Tomorrow
This is the entrance to Tomorrowland, which has recently
been re-done, as it was starting to look like "Yesterdayville."
No, We're Not On Our Honeymoon
Being from Southern California, as kids this was our first
introduction to the Swiss Alps - it's a replica of the
Matterhorn that stands in the center of the park and has a
great roller coaster that's cars are shaped like bobsleds.
Did You Know They Pump Out The Smell?
Brent munches on some popcorn - the wonderful aroma
of which is actually pumped out by the popcorn machines
that make it in order to entice visitors to partake: it works!
Looking For "Hunny" With The Honey
We joined Pooh on his quest for the sweet stuff.
New Orleans Square
After fearlessly facing The Pirates Of The Caribbean, we
rested on the stairs of this New Orleans-style facade.
Arial's Shell
We were looking for pearls under the sea,
but instead found a fun photo-op.
