Seeing The Sites Of Miami

We saw all the sites of the Miami area while the city was
getting ready to receive thousands of extra visitors in two
weeks for the 41st Super Bowl. The Dallas Mavericks just
happened to be playing the Miami Heat while we were there,
so we listened to the game on the local radio while driving
around the Coral Gables and Coconut Grove areas.
Art Deco Style in South Beach
There were lots of neat buildings in the Art Deco style
throughout South Beach, Florida.
Lummus Park And Public Beach
This park and beach stretch the length of Ocean Blvd in
South Beach.
More Art Deco
There were rows of brightly painted buildings
along the Florida coast.
Driving Along Ocean Blvd.
Another Art Deco style building as we drive
along Ocean Blvd.
Colony Hotel
Many of the Art Deco buildings are hotels.
Freedom Tower
Freedom Tower was built in the
Mediterranean Revival style in 1925, when it
housed the offices of the Miami News &
Metropolis. It is said that it was inspired by the
Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain.
Bayside Marina
Standing at the Hard Rock Cafe, you can see the
American Airlines Arena and the Freedom Tower.
American Airlines Arena
The Dallas Mavericks had just beat the Miami Heat. It
was their first meeting since Dallas lost to Miami in the
2006 finals.
Cool Tree, So Brent Has To Climb It
You can barely see Brent at the base as he begins his
climb up this neat old tree.
Bayside Marketplace
In Downtown Miami right next to the American Airlines
Arena, there is this mall, dining and entertainment area
known as Bayside Marketplace we explored.
Coconut Grove
We drove down through the town of Coconut Grove and
went to this outdoor mall - Cocowalk. Brent got a coconut
gelato and Kate got a Starbucks Grande Cappuccino.
View Of Freedom Tower From Bayside Marketplace
Through the park and trees of the Bayside Marketplace
area, you can see the Freedom Tower in the distance..
