Dad Out Of Town
Dad was out of town last week and then over this weekend
so Mommy and Sawyer got some good buddy time. It rained
pretty heavily so we went to "the inside park" - a.k.a.
McDonald's Playground where we ran into a little friend of
Sawyer's, Briley. Sawyer and Briley go to school together,
she is about 6 months older than Sawyer and they cross over
in classes for just a few months. Briley is the little girl who
was so happy to see Sawyer one day when Kate dropped
Sawyer off that she ran out of the potty room - with nothing on
from the waist down but her socks - to give Sawyer a big hug
and kiss. Mommy and Daddy mused that it will probably be a
while before naked women start hurling themselves at
Sawyer so he should enjoy it while it lasts! At McDonald's
they were both pretty cute and affectionate and played really
well together - embracing when they departed. Sigh...
Sawyer also went with Mommy to the office over the weekend
where he got to play with his Chinese "Auntie Grace" and
where he also managed to look all of Mommy's things in her
office. Luckily one of the guys who was there climbed
through the ceiling for us to open the door to the office. It was
quite an adventure. The best part was when Kate realized
what had happened and said, "Oh no!" Sawyer gently patted
her on the back and said, "It's okay, Mommy. Don't worry."
Daddy finally came back late on Sunday night but his flight
was delayed for several hours so Sawyer went to bed and
Mommy stayed awake and woke Sawyer at about 10:30 to go
to the airport, but it turned out that Daddy didn't get in until
about 12:30. Sawyer was incredibly good and could not have
been happier to see Daddy!
